About Me:
My name is Jacob Hursh, my friends call me Jake. I live in a small town southeast of Pittsburgh called Manor, Pennsylvania. I was born in Winter Park, Florida, outside of Orlando, and moved here with my parents as a child. I have lived in this area for about 18 years and currently have no plans of leaving seeing as how I seem to have grown roots here. : )

I grew up in Manor as a kid and attended Hempfield Area High School which was, of course, terrible. I was a typical troubled kid from a broken home, lol. I was a punk rocker with a mohawk, boots, and patches all over my clothes and an attitude that questioned authority. At that time I liked to consider my self part of a DIY community which in some respects I still am. From the time I was about 12 I have been playing guitar and writing music which I think is where much of my creativity stems from. As a high school student I always did well made high honor and made many friends. I also was in several bands as a high school student. One band, Diversity Without an Issue, actually made it quite far but eventually disbanded after losing a drummer. In addition, I played a lot of hockey. I played in line hockey for 4 years 3 of which I was the captain of my team and 2 of which I was the leading scorer on the team. I also played ice hockey for 2 years. My first year I entered the league as a forward and ended up playing goaltender for the first time. My team ended up in the semi finals and I won MVP. In high school I also took Graphic Art and Communication at CWCTC in Youngwood. Here is where I was first introduced to the idea of making t-shirts, stickers, business cards, and also where I was first introduced to great applications like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Soundbooth as well as MAC in general. From then on I have been designs logos, flyers, cd covers and inserts, patches, business cards, stickers, websites, and most all t-shirts. Unfortunately, when I turned 17 I decided to get a job, move out, leave the drama of high school and go to cyber school. Cyber school did not work out well and I found myself dropping out early in my senior year (I know, dumbass! LOL.). I work a terrible minimum wage manufacturing job for 10 hours a day for a year which was enough for me to know it wasn't for me. Then I found Spreadshirt.com in Greensburg, PA.

I have been with Spreadshirt for 2 years. Now that I work for Spreadshirt.com t-shirts are more part of my life than ever. One year as a Production associate nesting vector graphics and operating the Plotting machines and another year as a customer and design support specialist. That's right, I review some of the vector graphics you submit to Spreadshirt. Sorry! Many of you probably aren't happy with me since some of your vectors get rejected, but I can assure you I'm doing my job the best I can do! Many of you probably are happy with me as well since I have been handling most of the shop partner inquiries since Temple moved to Q&I and I may have relieved a few headaches for some of you at one point. Well that's about it. You know nearly everything 'about me'.

I also love the sport of hockey. As a child and teenager I played street, inline and ice hockey for several years. Several times becoming the captain of my team, twice playing in an all star game and once as a team mvp. I am a dedicated fan to our local team, the Pittsburgh Penguins, who compete nationally in the NHL. I also participate in the widely known fantasy sports in association with the NHL and Yahoo.

In addition, I like fast cars. Specifically, customized imported street cars and vehicles. For the most part, the cars that spark my interest are custom fabricated Acuras, Hondas, Nissans, Toyotas, etc... I have a website dedicated to creating custom clothing and merchandise for others with the same interest. I have made several graphics for use on this site that will be showcased in my portfolio. Most of all I love my girlfriend and much more, who I have been with for 4 years, Kayla Glass. I love to sit at home and play video games with her or go out to eat or ice skating.
